Day Before

Jambo!

It is the day before Tommy and I take off for Kenya and I just wanted to touch base with everyone. We take off from O'hare tomorrow at 12:55pm, will be in Atlanta from 4pm until 9pm, then Dubai from 7:50pm until 2:30am on Saturday, and will finally arrive in Kenya at 6:40am on Sunday. With all the layovers and flights this trip is roughly 34 hours, 42 with the time change... wow. I have never been on a flight over 4 hours long (the furthest I have flown is to San Diego) so this whole experience itself will be interesting.

As for the trip, it is hard to say what Tommy and I will experience. We know we land at 6:40am, get our visas, and get picked up. From there everything is a bit of a mystery and will certainly be one big adventure.

Aside from learning the culture of Kenya and teaching the kids as much as I can while I am there, my goal will be to take as many pictures as I can and to document either by blog or journal everything that happens so I can share it all with everyone.

Wish Tommy and I luck and keep checking this thing for updates!

I am so excited for you. I cannot wait to hear about all your experiences. I think the Kenyan people are amongst the kindest and wonderful people on earth. Oh, and those beautiful smiles!
My max flight was 14 hours. I recommend lotsof water, bring your own snacks and get up and move around the plane ALOT. Your jet lag should be interesting, but hey you guy are young.
    Have a great time!
